The only provision to that is;

If you get signed to a record deal while using the IMASTAR hosting label, there will be a pre-determined buyout fee. This is a fee that the small or major label will pay to IMASTAR to release you from further dealings in association with IMASTAR Records. And look… there’s Still no cost to you!

 And like our mission statement says, we want to see you shine! So we will not hold you back or hinder your career with an expensive buyout fee.

 If you get singed to a major label after you leave IMASTAR Records you will owe us nothing and your label will owe us nothing.

HOWEVER… You did see that coming right?... lol we will have treated you fair and like family while being a part of IMASTAR Records, so we know that you would never leave us because you knew you were about to get signed, just so you wouldn’t have to do a buyout… but just to protect ourselves there is a 6 mos grace period. If you leave our family and within 6 mos get signed to a major label we might think that was a little coincidental! So in that case, we would have to negotiate a buyout with your new label. When we use the word negotiate, obviously it would no longer be that pre-determined fee that will be set when you move in.

We will negotiate the fee after meeting with you and your new label and discussing all the circumstances surrounding your time of offer and acceptance.

Other than that … there is nothing else… you will never have to pay IMASTAR Records a dime.

In summery if you ever get that record deal of a life time! They will pay a small buyout fee and you are on your way to STARDOM! Glad we could help!

Your pre-determined Buyout fee will be based on your personal career goals and marketability as a new artist coming to IMASTAR Records.

The cost will be a minimum of $1,000.00 and no more than $5,000.00

 

HOW DOES IT WORK?

In most cases your production company or small indie label can keep you in their grasp buy owning your material until you get signed.  Then you have to buy out, or negotiate a release that could be very costly or even hinder you getting a contract when the major label starts looking into how open and available you and your material really are.

Some deals are exclusive, in that they prohibit the artist from entering into such an agreement with another party.

NOT IMASTAR we work with a Nashville Producer whose main focus is putting out the best product that you the artist and he as the producer can put out. From the Producer's perspective, He has a very reputable name in the music business and will only put his name on a product he believes in. From the Artist's point of view, understanding the importance of good product verses bad product can be some of the most vital in their career. A bad production deal could even prohibit an artist from ever getting signed or having a successful career.

IMASTAR lets you keep creative control of your own career, your music, and your choices we will help you when you need it and when we can, but as a host label we are just a name to drop to get you in the conversation and be accepted

IIMASTAR Records lets you move in and live with us until you are singed to a major label deal, and we offer a buyout clause which allows an artist to be released from their relationship with IMASTAR for a predetermined fee.

You will have a page on the website where you can put your pics and music and create your own WBPK “web based press kit”.  You will have exclusive rights to use the logo and the IMASTAR name, you will have access to one of Nashville’s most reputable music producers, you will have some of Nashville’s most recognized and award winning songwriters at your finger tips, you will get the best OUT OF THIS WORLD production deals exclusively for the indie artist with one of the hottest new Music Video Directors… Yes still NO out of pocket… You will also be able to live with us for as long as you want FREE of charge, you can leave us at anytime FREE of charge, and if you decide to leave without a record deal from an outside party, IMASTAR will easily let you go.
